Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC), is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based outside Philadelphia in the United States. Rated with Charity Navigator's highest rating of four-stars since 2005, LBBC's mission is to empower all women affected by breast cancer to live as long as possible with the best quality of life. LBBC is an education and support organization that helps women take an active role in their ongoing recovery or management of the disease, regardless of educational background, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or ability to pay. LBBC is nationally recognized for the quality of its educational programs. The organization calls on many volunteers, including the world’s foremost health care professionals, who generously donate their time and expertise so the organization can offer its services at low or no cost. Seidman Library and Resource Center Yoga on the Steps is the signature fundraising event for Living Beyond Breast Cancer. In 2011, Yoga on the Steps takes place in two cities: Philadelphia and for the first time, Washington, DC. The main feature of Yoga on the Steps is a one-hour beginner's yoga class. After the class, participants and supporters are invited to stay for a light breakfast and Healthy Living Expo featuring event sponsors, yoga and fitness studios, healthful foods, natural cosmetics and information about local area nonprofits and service organizations.
